We weave the future explores climate change through the idea of home. Rather than seeing environmental destruction as something distant, the work asks us to recognise the threat to the places and spaces we call our own. Combining painting and textile, the artist depicts a utopian home gradually covered by a woven pattern representing methane. As it spreads, the pattern takes over the landscape. Yet, like weaving, methane's impact can also be undone. The deliberate, time-intensive process of weaving becomes a metaphor for climate action: the future is not something we simply inherit, but something we actively create. By taking responsibility for our own homes and habitats, we can collectively protect the planet. The work is ultimately a call to act intentionally and shape the future we want.

Maja is a Warsaw-based artist working across painting and textiles. Her practice is characterised by an interest in the relationship between visual language, spirituality, and everyday experience. Text frequently becomes an integral element of her work. She is particularly drawn to the subtle ways in which spirituality operates within ordinary human life. For Maja, art is also a means of contributing to a wider global need for independent and creative thinking. Vulnerability and openness are central to her understanding of the role and value of art in society.
